35.7

Pretty sure this entire blog will consist of me whining about my day, so feel free to skip ahead to the song.

I woke up at 7 (failed to do so at 6:30) and I was super tired because I went to bed at like 12:30 and I had been sleeping in all week. Plus I was tired because someone from Portugal (I'm not naming names) texted me at 4:30 in the morning. Normally it wouldn't wake me up but I woke up because I had to pee and then I heard this loud noise when I was almost asleep again. And even though I was crazy tired it took a while to get back to sleep. But I was fine with being super tired because I have a job and I wasn't going to complain.

Then I got to the store. I counted the till, and the float was exactly 300, which is what you want. Especially when we were under last night (I think Iram counted wrong - no big deal, like a quarter or something). But I knew I was working with Moni so I was going to dress extra professionally in my heels. That lasted three hours. Then I switched to flats. My feet are still hurting. Hurting so bad they're pulsating, actually. It's bad. And I had to ride against the wind to get to work and to get home. BUT back to my point.

My day sucked because I was not able to log onto the system. So I had to call Moni (even though she wasn't due to start for another two hours) and I think I woke her up. She told me to call Fairweather (I did. No one answered.) and then I called Moni back. She said to call Parm, which I did. His number didn't work, even though he's our District Manager. So he told me to call POS, which I did. And you know what? "Hi you've reached POS, our office is closed today".

Then Moni had to come in. And then Carrie came over from Fairweather. And we tried to figure it out. I tried using Ashley's number (from my old store) but there's a division between our stores so her number didn't work. Eventually (two and a half hours later), we got into the system by using Frankie's number (luckily - or stupidly - her password is the same as her employee number). Then POS came through (I called the emergency number and left a message) but they called Parm and were like "No, it should be working. Everything's fine on our end". So then Parm called POS back and told them to put me in the system as manager so this would never ever ever happen again. And a few hours later, they took over the system and put me in as manager with level 5 clearance for everything. And then I had to put Moni in as keyholder with level 3 clearance for all that good stuff so she could do stuff when I wasn't there.

Then, during the few hours when nothing was working, I looked at the paperwork and realized how screwed up it was and screwed over we were when Chelsea left, because she had no idea how to do anything, really. And she passed on no knowledge to us so even after the computer was working, I spent my day going through the paperwork and sorting through a bunch of crap to make life easier for Moni and I if we were eventually to become manager and assistant manager. Or if someone else is going to come in and be manager, it'll be easier for them. I just don't know.

And then Moni and I were in the back, changing things around, organizing, making room for things. And it was just hectic and annoying and I'm already going crazy. But at least Iram and I got to listen to some good British music a la UK top 40, and also some that I already had. I guess she likes Plan B too. And she likes Pixie Lott, which makes my life easier.

Anyways. I could complain until I ran out of space on the internet but I'd rather stop complaining and watch Doctor Who and leave you with a Plan B song called She Said.

So, enjoy that. I'm going to enjoy Matt Smith. But nowhere near as much as I enjoyed David Tennant. I love that man.

  1. I am seriously running out of witty things to comment on blogs, as I've just caught up on Jordan's, and working on yours, and you both kind of post prolifically.
