So I was reading my friend Ashley's blog. And she mentioned a few posts ago when her kinda friend stole her mood ring and then later proposed to her.
It reminded me of the time I was proposed to.
So, you guys (Alex and Shosh) might remember my sixteenth birthday party and the awesome people I had there (and the not so awesome). And I'm certain that you'll remember Steven because everyone liked him the most. And I agree, he's hilarious.
Anyways. That was also the year that I went crazy with all the free time I had and so I made lots of food.
Spinach dip in that bread bowl, sausage rolls, samosas, cake, etc. And then I also had chips and pop and what-not.
Steven found out that I had made it all myself and so he took my hand, got down on one knee in front of our friends, and asked me to marry him. It was a little problematic because I already had that gold tiger's eye ring on my finger, so he had to take it off and put it back on and everything.
Naturally, I was laughing hysterically (and still want to, every time I think about), and my friend Becka tried to take a picture or video, but he was done and he stood up. Then I was still laughing (I accepted, in case you're wondering) and then Becka came up to me asking if that was serious.
And I was like "Yes, Becka. Steven and I are actually going to get married..."
And then I saw him again a couple months later and mentioned something about him being my fiancee and he was all "you remembered! I thought you had forgotten about us!"
Good times. I think the only thing that topped that, in the case of birthdays, was the silly string incident with Shoshana the year after. And the ocean the same year. Oh, man.

HAHA THE SILLY STRING WAS THE BEST THING! Loved that so much and I was the one lucky enough to film that precious moment in our lives.
ReplyDeleteThe ocean was also pretty insane. I couldn't believe you. That day was so cold. I have to admit, I was really worried about your bleeding feet.
I must have missed the proposal though. I can't seem to remember it very clearly. I know this is sad, but DEFINITELY remember all that food. That was incredible and I still can't believe that you made all that on your own.
But I think the best thing about this post is that it shows that the most spontaneous and unplanned moments are the ones that tend to be the most remembered (food is an exception to this of course) and are the best memories that will always last.
hahahaha That's epic :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to see this ring ;)
I totally don't remember the proposal at all! D; It sounds beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI remember the silly string. All. Too. Well.
