OKAY. So today's song is from Britney's second album, Oops, I Did it Again.

Her first album was all bubblegum pop, but with this album, she turned up the heat. Brit got her sexy on, and wore that awesome red tight suit thing. It was also when she started writing her own songs! (One song - Dear Diary).

I'm pretty sure everyone in my school was in love with "Lucky" and "Oops" and I know my bff Natalie, along with her sister and my sister, really enjoyed my rendition of "Stronger".

She covered the Rolling Stones song "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and after I actually started listening to the Stones, it took me about 3 years to get the lyrics right, since she changed some to make it fit for a girl.

Today, we're going to go with "What U See is What U Get". Which is a good choice, if I say so myself. I mean, there's really no bad choice for a Britney song, because every song she's ever done is amazing. And that's just a fact.

Anyways, here you go. Enjoy your Mondays, guys.

So this week's theme is one that will probably be happening a lot. I've decided that every now and again, I will showcase a certain artist, play only their songs, and show their evolution as a singer/songwriter/awesome person

So the first up on Showcase week is only.... BRITNEY EFFING SPEARS.

Because she's amazing. And she, believe it or not, currently has 7 CD's out so it works perfectly.

Britney's first album, ...Baby One More Time debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was two-times platinum after just a month. Which is like, a huge deal.

It was the biggest selling album EVER, by a teenager (probably not anymore, since we have Miley and the Beebs). But basically, our girl was off to an incredible start.

The song I chose from her first album is Sometimes. Because for whatever reason, I have ALWAYS loved the slow songs off albums. And when I was like 7, this was my favorite song. Everrrr. So yeah, it's still like a huge deal to me.

Sooo Iram and Courtney just got back from their night out! About an hour ago. So like, 1am-ish. They had a fun time with DJ Datsik, and Courtney was all "Aren't you like, just waiting to turn 19 now so you can come clubbing with us?" And I'm like "Mmmmmm yeah... about that."

Anyways, I was watching Scott Pilgrim, and I might go back to watching that after I've posted this!

The new series of Skins started. Not sure how I feel about it. Basically, what happens in Skins, is it follows some teens around for both years of sixth form (basically Junior and Senior year) at Roundview College, and that makes two seasons. After two seasons, they graduate. And the next season starts with new people.

The way they transition is usually really well done. Like, the very first episode ever, Tony Stonem wakes up under his covers and looks at the cameras.
Season two ends with his sister Effy, lying under the same covers, staring into the cameras, so you know that once Tony is gone, Effy is going to replace him. And then obviously it follows Effy and her friends.

But this, there was no transition. It ended when Cook was about to punch that psychopath psychiatrist in the face and then it starts with this Franky chick, who may or may not be a lesbian, and who was humiliated at her old school. And I'm just not sure if I like her character. And apparently one of the characters from the first two seasons (Jal, who I totally hated) is coming back or something. It's seeming pretty lame so far. Which upsets me, because I wanted to be able to go "Hey, US Skins can suck it, because UK Skins is AHH-MAZING." But it's not so far this season.

ANYWAYS. You guys don't watch Skins and therefore don't give a crap. Buuut I like to fill you in on my life.

So after that mix-up yesterday or something, when I posted the same Taylor Swift song I posted like two weeks before, I am picking a song I know has NEVER been done on this here blahg. So without further ado, here is Permanent December. By Miley Cyrus, everyone's favorite.

What a skank.

OMGZZZ So it's like Friday. How awesome is that?

I didn't do much today. Basically worked. Then caught up on some tv shows.

So Alex has admitted that she likes Taylor Swift. Maybe not in so many words, but she admitted it. Maybe she's still ashamed, but I don't care.

I just got paid, and I feel like all of that money is gone already. I need to pay Shoshana for bus tickets to Ottawa, I need to book my own, I have to pay my half of our cable bill, and I've got rent and groceries. Ohhh, responsibilities. I might just buy my ticket to Abby on the night when I actually go, because the only credit card in this house is not owned by me. And the ticket is only like 60 bucks, so I can handle that. ALSO, I can probably catch the 5:30, which gets to Abby at 10:00 - instead of the one at 3 in the morning, muahaha.

Sorry, this is just me rambling. Spilling my thoughts to you gais. Because I know you're interested in stuff like this, RIGHT?!?!

Anyways, today's song is amazing. It's by Lauren O'Connell (featuring Ryan Lerman) and they're both wonderful. It's called I Belong to You

ENJOY YOUR FRIDAYS.

OKAY. So I just finished yesterday's post about two seconds ago. But as I said, I like to be a day ahead. So I have to play catch-up when I don't accomplish that.

So yeah, I'm still super duper excited about Alex and Shosh. Obviously. That won't change. Not until I get back from Ottawa and once I'm done actually seeing them. I'll be excited on my bus ride to Abby. Then when I'm with Shosh. Then on the three day bus ride to Ottawa with Shoshana. Then the entire time we're in Ottawa with Alex. Then the entire bus ride back because I'll still be with Shosh. Then when I'm on the bus back home, I'll be too tired to be excited.

It's like EFY. You go to bed at 1 in the morning because you're having a dance party with your friends, and then you wake up at 5 because it's the only time you can shower in peace, and then you do that all week, and you're too excited that you're at EFY to even notice you're tired. But then on the last day, you have to wake up at 6, and you sleep the entire way home because you're so exhausted and your parents wonder what the heck you were doing, but you just had so much fun and did so many things that you just didn't stop until checkout. And it's amazing. Ottawa will be better.

So yeah. I think another Taylor song? I'm just torturing Alex. But I know she loves her, deep down. I just need to force it out. So today's song is going to be I'd Lie.

Ottawa: 21 days.
Hailey: 41 days.

3.04

So I had the day off. And I am BACK HOME. It's such a glorious feeling. I did everything the same, but there was NO CAT. I was completely alone and loved it.

I also began my digital copy of the PANSED list. I figure it will be easier to find songs if I can just ctrl+F.

Sooo my vacation request was approved, and I am going to see Shoshana and Alex again! FINALLLLY.

I leave for Abbotsford in about 22 days. Then in 23, Shosh and I are leaving to go to Ottawa. So in about 26 days, LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY, we will be WITH ALEX. IN FREAKING OTTAWA.

Obviously, the news is very exciting and I cannot wait. MCIKNAILkuEUWYbckuBAXVHEGWcgjaevcj.

Then, the other amazing thing. About three days after I get back, Hailey moves in. So I won't be able to miss Alex and Shosh for too long, because I'll have Hailey and everything will be beautiful and nothing will hurt.

So when Iram got back from work, we watched Stardust and it was amazing. Love that movie so much. It was so much better this time around, though, because all the other times I've watched it, I didn't realize half the actors in there were people I knew. Like who knew David Walliams was in that? Rupert Everett? I didn't even notice until today. It was beautiful.

Right. The song. I shall leave you with one, before I get started on my Thursday post. Because I know I won't actually remember when it is Thursday.

So because Alex can't decide whether or not she likes Taylor Swift, I've decided to post Taylor Swift until she admits she does. Because everyone loves Taylor Swift. Honestly. If Alex doesn't admit it by the end of this week, she is seriously jeopardizing next week's theme, which was going to be SOO amazing. But it will instead be Taylor Swift week.

Today's song is going to be Long Live. Enjoy!

I was going to leave this one for tomorrow, but I liked being a day ahead, so I'm doing a double whammy. Then I'll sleep, I promise. For realz.

Tuesday's song, is one that Alex will appreciate. To make up for Bleeding Love, and all the times we sang anything on karaoke while you were in the vicinity.

Skinny Love by Bon Iver.

Alright. Now for real, enjoy your Tuesdays.

Hailey moves in in 43 days, now.

Also, you should all check out this.

I totes told Shosh that I was going to bed. And two hours later, I'm still here. It's how I roll. Unfortunately.

But I'm going to bed soon, I promise! I needz mah sleep tonight. Otherwise I'll just have a crapload of sugar in my Lemon Zinger tomorrow morning. But you guys, tonight is the last night I have to spend here. Tomorrow, I go to work. Then I come here, pack, clean a bit, and LEAVE.

GOODBYE, DEVIL CAT.

Okay. So today's song comes with a story. It's because I've been watching nothing but Skins and Merlin for the past two weeks, and this scene was really funny, and I was kind of like "this song does NOT go with the scene at all" but it was still amazing and I loved it. So the song is Oops, I Did it Again. You know you love it.

Skins is a terrible show, but I am addicted.

Okay. So the guy from Pirates of the Caribbean with the glass eye. I was watching an episode of Merlin last a couple nights ago, and he was in it! And I was like, yeah alright, no big d. Obviously it's a British show and this happens. But then the next night, I was watching Skins, and HE WAS IN THAT EPISODE TOO. He's tv-stalking me. And basically his type-cast is creep.

Anyways. It's Sunday, y'all! There's a cat currently scratching at this bedroom door for no reason I can figure. But basically it is my sole desire to kick this particular cat in the face.

Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday.

Right. So there's no theme this week. Which is probably for the best, because as it turns out, I'm not that great at doing themes when I haven't planned ahead. So I'll do that for next time.

Today's song is Whip My Hair, COVERED by Miranda.

Skip ahead to 2:00 for the experience of a lifetime.

Happy Sunday!

2.07

It's about 2:30 in the morning and I've got to work tomorrow, so let's get this done. I'm up this late because I'm watching Merlin. It's so beautiful. The problem is that I'm not really tired, and I want to watch another episode, but I know how tired I'll be if I don't sleep now. Maybe one more episode?

So Chelsea and Matt get back on Tuesday. I'm so excited to go home. I need sleep. The cat wakes me up every single day, and I'm like: "Cat, shut the eff up."

I was planning on going back on Wednesday, because that's my day off and it will be easier, but I want to sleep in on my day off, so I'm probably going to take my suitcase home on Sunday, or Monday. Then I can just have a couple changes of clothes in a backpack and I can wait for Chelsea and Matt to get back, then take the bus home. It will be wonderful.

Anyways, to finish off the week, I figure I should have something spectacular. Although it doesn't get much better than Hilary Duff, so I don't know what to tell you.

We're going to go with a song that I kind of like, and I'm pretty sure it's the only song I like by this band. Like We Used to by A Rocket to the Moon

Also, I'm moving the countdown here because I don't post statuses everyday on FB.

2.06

It's Friday!

So today, I woke up to Shawn calling me. Because we didn't leave him any keys with which to open the store. So I called Iram, and she went down to open the store. AND THEN. THEN, YOU GUYS.

The bus by Chelsea's house is supposed to come by like, every twenty minutes. Specifically, at 11:50, 12:15, and 12:30 ish. I got to the bus stop at 11:45, and had to wait an ENTIRE hour for the bus to come. It was being really special today. But I finally got to work, twenty minutes late, and had a jolly good time.

Iram is looking for a new laptop so we went to check some out today at "future store" and the Source. Then I ate some leftover perogies. Cool story, bro.

So yeah, that was pretty much my day. I'm trying to watch Inception now but I keep getting distracted by like, this blog, and like, Facebook, and YouTube, and Twitter and that other site. And I'm also just not in the movie-watching mood, but I promised Hailey I would watch it tonight and by golly, I shall!

OKAY. Right. So the song. This just came to me. And it's a classic. I have fond memories of this song, on the way up to Whistler for Girl's Camp 08. Yes, Shoshana. It is Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis.

This is probably not a break-up song, but it's like.... kind of depressing. In a weird way. And I can manipulate the theme however I see fit, so shut your face and deal.

Happy Friday!

2.05

I was trying to fall asleep. Then my mind trailed off and eventually I got to thinking about Alex and Shoshana, and I was all "oh yeah, I have a blog post to write!" So here I am, at half one in the morning. You're welcome.

Sooo, when it comes to bands I've been listening to for a long time, I think of Paramore, and all those bands I started listening to in about grade nine. But there is one band - apart from the Rolling Stones, which I've been listening to practically since my birth - that I have been listening to for a very long time. Dashboard Confessional. Don't judge.

My brothers got me listening to this band when I was still playing Neopets. Okay, when I first started playing Neopets. Because let's face it, occasionally I do return for a game or two of Destruct-o-Match. Remember to Breathe kind of became an anthem for my siblings and me. After Kelley moved out, Beth and Connor and I would sometimes sit on the patio at night, blankets all around, just listening to Dashboard and talking about everything.

All my siblings still listen to Dashboard and for me, it just brings me back to the days when we were all together, washing the dishes after dinner, screaming along to the words. It's always nice to have something to bring me back, and if I close my eyes, I can pretend they're all there again. I guess I miss them a lot.

ANYWAYS. Today's song is This Bitter Pill. As you may be able to guess from the song title, not one of those happy-go-lucky break up songs.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

2.04

Wednesday! You guys need something awesome to get through today. Which is why I give you a really good one. It's actually the song that got the idea started for this week. It's more Hate than Break-Up, and I really enjoy it. Most break-up songs are like, omg I'm so sad, take me back, you broke my heart. But this one is all about you are a dirty whore and I should have cheated on you, because you were cheating on me, and I had so many chances to but I didn't because I'm a good person, and you're a terrible person, I hope you're unhappy forever.

So I like it.

It's called Cheated and it's by Mike Posner.

Happy Wednesday, all. I'll be going back to my actual home and doing laundry, dropping my bike off (maybe), and switching out my clothes. DAY OFF EXCITEMENT.

xx

2.03

OKAY. Tuesday, we're here. Sorry about missing a few days. Second week and all. Getting used to it. Also the internet at Chelsea's is being weird so I'm not sure how much longer I'll have it.

Today's song is amazing. Because I've reverted to middle school and Hilary Duff is once again my idol. Don't judge, she's ballin. Effing love H-Duff. I picked a good day to have her, since yesterday was Duffy. Guess my mind is a one-track place.

Today's song is Break My Heart. So good.

She's so gorgeous and talented.

xx

2.02

Okay! Monday. Yesterday. I worked. That was pretty much it. Came home and watched Merlin. OMGZ so amazing. You guys have no idea.

Anyways, continuing with the theme, today's song is going to be Too Hurt to Dance by Duffy. Duffy is always good. Her new album is amazing. I listened to it on New Year's.

xx

2.01

Wooops. So Saturday night, I was in Penticton for a dance. Then I went to bed at four, and while drifting off to sleep, I remembered about the blog. Didn't post anything. Didn't post anything Monday night because I went to bed at ten. I'm posting now. Sorry I'm late.

Also, I promised you a theme this week. The theme, because Love Songs are not far off (Valentine's Day and all that), is going to be Hate Songs/Break-up Songs - along those lines. Because those are always fun.

We're going to kick it off with some Taylor Swift, because who knows more about break-ups than her, right? Anyways, I like this song. I like Taylor Swift. This is no secret. So today's song is going to be If This Was a Movie

I bought soooo many things today.

New boots.
New moccasins.
New shoes.
Three new shirts from the Gap.
A new dress from the Gap.
And some food and stuff.
I also paid my cell phone bill and my first ever hydro bill.
So now I'm broke. WHATEVS.

Today's song is a promise of things to come, because I can assure you, I will be reusing some of those old theme ideas as well as adding a bunch more. Today's song is from a really awesome week, FRENCH MUSIC WEEK. I randomly found it on Youtube the other day. It's called Plus Je Reste, which I'm assuming means And I Stay or something like that. Either way, I enjoyed it.

Have a gorgeous Saturday, everyone. I'll be going to work, then partying it up with the YSA for a Winter Wonderland dance in Penticton!

1.06

Okay. So I don't have much time. That's a lie; I totally have time. But I was hoping to watch this episode of Grey's Anatomy then go straight to bed. Anyways. Today's song is a cover of one of my favorites.

Nothing really happened today, except I talked to my mom, planned a lunch date with her, got my boots soaking wet, threw them out, decided to buy new boots, picked out those boots and put them on hold, and decided to also buy moccasins and Keds. I'm excited for those things. Mostly the new boots. Walking to work in my flats tomorrow!

OKAY. The song is Falling Slowly. Covered by the Vitamin String Quartet! I'm sure you remember them from last year. Alex loves them a lot. And I love them. I kind of just remembered about them, actually, when a friend sent me the link to their cover of Poker Face. I prefer this one. Beauutiful.

Enjoy Friday. Have a safe weekend <3

xx

1.05

Soo I'm at Chelsea's now, after a harrowing journey. You don't want to know. But it sucked. I missed Institute because I was pushing my bike through the snow. Gaah!

Anyways, I have bus tickets for tomorrow and the next day so I'm set to take the bus for the next couple weeks. Obviously I'll have to buy more tomorrow, but it's like, at least I have a way to get into work now, haha.

I am realizing now that I didn't bring my PANSED list with me. So basically I don't know if I will be repeating any songs, but I will try my best. I do have a theme picked out for next week and I'm pretty sure I have all new songs planned, but whatever. It's not like you guys will even care! I don't know why I'm being so OCD about it.

Anyways. Today's song is a cover. For the First Time, originally by The Script. Covered by Amy Kuney, who y'all know I love to death. I love the Script as well. And I will only let Amy cover the Script. Ever.

Anyways, enjoy your Thursdays!

I hope you're ready for the epic song. Hopefully Alex and Shoshana already have it memorized because goodness knows, I do.

But before I get to the song, tomorrow/today, I will be leaving for Chelsea's. I packed up my suitcase (well, Iram's suitcase) and I'm taking it to the mall tomorrow. Then Chelsea is going to take it home because Matt is giving her a ride home from work. Then I'm going to ride my bike back to her place. I'll be spending the night, and they depart in the morning. Then I will be alone with Kelowna (the cat), in Kelowna (the city).

By the way guys, you have no idea how excited I am to ride my bike again. Since my mom got that bike for me, I have barely gone a day without riding it. I miss Carmella so much. But the snow is basically GONE, so I will be riding it every day for the next two weeks and my heart soars at the thought. It's such a beautiful bike and Kelowna is such a beautiful city to ride around in.

So Iram is still sick. And today she has face herpes. So she bought Abreva (21 dollars for such a tiny tube) and is hoping that solves her problem. I sent her home early from work today because it was dead and she was dead and there was no point in both of us being there when I could handle it by myself and she was so sick.

I was just about to go on a rant about how I can't find my pajamas, but then as I started typing, I remembered where I put them. So crisis averted, guys. Found my pajamas. They're going in the suitcase... Later. Because right now, I am all cozy in my bed.

So yeah. I'll let you know how my transition goes.

Now for the epic song... You just know it's gotta be something by JOSH GROBAN. I could basically put down any song of his, especially from his latest, Illuminations. BUUUT the song I'm going with is Higher Window. Of course.

Have a lovely Wednesday, all. I love you.

xx

Monday, January 10, 2011

So tomorrow's song is super epic. Which is why today's song is not so epic. You just had two epic songs. You can't have three in a row, or you might combust.

So tonight, I was at a YSA activity where people ACTUALLY played ACTUAL board games with me. You guys should know this is a big deal. I have all these board games and no one will play them with me. So it was a magical night, to say the least.

Anyways, Iram is still sick, so please be prayin' for her.

Also, in TWO DAYS, I will be going to Chelsea's to spend a couple weeks with her cat! I will be revisiting my old Wireless Router, Network name: Paper Towns. I've missed him. I gave him to Chelsea a long time ago, and now I get to see him again! Plus, he is already saved in my laptop so I don't have to input that ridiculous alphanumeric code, even though I probably have it memorized.

So yeah, that's what's happening lately. I will leave you now, with the not-so-epic, but still awesome song, Like a G6. I hope the suspense is built up for tomorrow's epicness. It won't disappoint.

Porbs have this song memorized. Laterz!

1.02

HEY GURL HEY!

So I'm posting this at a quarter to ten, mostly because I know it's already Monday in Ottawa, and mostly because I know I will forget tomorrow. Because this is going to take me a while to get used to. As always.

So tomorrow (at work, probably) I will be re-cataloging last year's PANSED entry thingies. I just want to have a list of everything so I don't use the same ones this year. I might have to compile an iTunes playlist. It may take a while. So for this week, and possibly next week, I will be using songs I know for SURE have not been used yet, either because they didn't exist, or because I didn't know they existed.

Today's song comes with a story.

So a few of you may have heard of the struggles we had at work a few months back, trying to identify that one song.

It came on at work, and Iram liked it. So she listened for lyrics, wrote them down, googled it. Google searching hailed no results. So we had to wait for it to come on again. We wrote down the lyrics. Again, nothing from Google. I added it to Yahoo Answers. We got other people at work to write down the lyrics in case we were wrong. Like, this song is so indie we didn't think it existed. Google doesn't even know about it!

Then I got my iPhone, so I downloaded a music identifying app. But Christmas came. And all the normal music stopped playing. Finally, we put a new CD in and the Christmas music ended about a week ago. But we've been listening to my iPhone. A couple days ago, I didn't put my iPhone on; I simply let the store music play. Because I was curious.

Then I asked Iram, "Have you heard your song lately?"

And she was like "No, I'm probably never going to hear it again."

And ten minutes later... there it was. We had someone in our store (from Fairweather, a sister company, it was fine) but I whipped out my iPhone, clicked on the app, ran to the back to turn the volume up, and held my iPhone up to the speaker. And we tasted sweet, sweet victory that day.

My friends, I present to you: Black and Blue by El Pino & The Volunteers

Happy Monday, everyone. And just remember... It may take seven months, but miracles happen, and dreams come true.

xx

1.01

Welcome back to PANSED, everyone. If you were not with us last school year, I posted a new song (and update on my life) every day so my friends Alex and Shoshana could think of me daily, while they were at university and Katimavik, respectively. Alex has gone back to school, and Shoshana is actually also at school. We are still apart, and so PANSED begins again.

Today's song is Let's Have a Party by the Backstreet Boys. Because we're starting this thing off in style.

So, to all of you who are far away from me... Here's to new beginnings and another beautiful year with awesomely lame music.

Themes start next week.

xx
